How Busker works, end to end.

How Busker is paid, what it plays, and where every cent of the hat goes.

01

Overview

Busker is a street performer on Robinhood Chain, live in 3D. Part of every $BUSKER trade's creator fee drops into its hat and pays for a reaction to that trader, by name: a line, a bit or a whole song.

The coin is launched by a contract, BuskerHat, which is also set as the coin's fee recipient in the same transaction. It pays the show first and the crew second, and every reaction leaves a receipt anyone can recompute.

  • every trade gets a reaction, sized by its own share of the fee
  • sells get the same show, played as a kind goodbye
  • 60 minutes without a trade and Busker naps; the next trade wakes it up
  • holding adds a voice in the show, never a bigger budget
  • nothing is paid to holders, and no number on the page is invented

Pre-launch: no coin and no contracts exist on chain yet. Until they do, every live number on the site reads zero and the pitch runs a labelled rehearsal.

02

How a reaction happens

  • a trader buys or sells $BUSKER on the launchpad
  • the trade pays the creator fee: 2.70% of it lands with BuskerHat, the coin's fee recipient
  • the watcher sees the trade within a block and gives it a budget: 0.81% of its size, the show's share
  • the performer picks a tier for that budget, writes the words, voices them, and the clip cutter cuts the clip
  • Busker plays it on the pitch, live, to the trader by name; the clip lands in the trader's Moments
  • a receipt is hashed for that reaction; every week the Tip Jar posts the receipts root on chain

Target: about 15 seconds from a trade to Busker's voice on the pitch.

03

Setlist: what a trade buys

Every reaction is sized by the trade that pays for it: 0.81% of the trade is the show's budget. Nobody can buy a louder reaction than their own trade covers, and holding $BUSKER never changes the budget.

Crowd · under $4
joins the crowd line, read every 30 s; your name chalked up, not spoken
Line · $4+
one spoken sentence with your name, a gesture, a 6 s clip
Bit · $20+
two or three sentences about you, a move, a 12 s clip
Number · $200+
a short verse written about you, a portrait card, a 20 s clip

A sell pays the same 3% as a buy, so it gets the same tier, played as a goodbye. Never mockery, never a guilt trip, never a word about what the seller made or lost.

Trades from one wallet inside 120 s stack into one reaction: their sizes add up, buys and sells alike.

Each tier's floor is the trade size whose show budget covers the reaction: $4 × 0.81% = $0.032 for a $0.03 Line, $20 × 0.81% = $0.162 for a $0.15 Bit, $200 × 0.81% = $1.62 for a $1.50 Number.

04

Hat: where the fee goes

A contract, BuskerHat, launches $BUSKER and is set as the coin's fee recipient in the same transaction. It pays the show first and the crew second, 30% and 70%, in a split nobody can change after launch.

Launchpad risk, disclosed

The launchpad's owner can reroute any coin's creator fee recipient after a 3-day timelock, and the recipient cannot veto it. BuskerHat shows a pending change on the pitch the day it is queued.

After graduation, fees taken in the coin itself are converted by the launchpad's operator on its own schedule; BuskerHat collects what is converted.

Launching is an owner switch on the launchpad. If it is closed on launch day, the launch waits.

Costs, the float and the runway

Crowd line (ASSUMED)

Line (ASSUMED)
$0.030 · one sentence, a small model
Bit (ASSUMED)
$0.150 · two or three sentences, a move
Number (ASSUMED)
$1.50 · a verse, a frontier model, a portrait card
Wake-up bit (ASSUMED)
$0.150 · paid from the float, not from the waker's trade

Every reaction is words + voice + clip, and its real cost is printed on its receipt. The 11 moves are pre-rendered from Busker's own rig, so a clip costs only the cut.

  • A reaction rarely spends its whole budget. A $1,000 trade budgets $8.10, a Number costs $1.50, and the other $6.60 stays in the jar.
  • That leftover is the float: it pays crowd lines, wake-up bits and the first reactions before the first collect.
  • The crew seeds the jar with 0.05 ETH at launch, on chain, before the first trade.
  • The pitch shows the runway: the days of show the float covers at the last 7 days' spend.
  • The jar can pay out at most 0.5 ETH a day. That is a brake on a stolen operator key, not a budget.

06

Nightfall and First Coin

The state is computed from trades only. Nothing pays Busker to stay awake when nobody trades, so silence is shown, not hidden.

Playing
a trade in the last 5 minutes: instrument out, lamp bright, crowd up
Warming
5 to 60 minutes without a trade: tunes, hums, counts the hat out loud
Napping
60 minutes without a trade: asleep on the curb, lamp low, hat open
Deep sleep
24 hours without a trade: the street dims; the chalkboard keeps the last name that played

First Coin

  • The first trade after a nap wakes Busker up.
  • The waker gets a wake-up bit on top of their own reaction, paid from the float ($0.15).
  • Their name stays on the chalkboard for 24 hours.
  • After a deep sleep, the first trade of $20 or more gets a Number, whatever its size.
  • It needs a $20+ trade and counts once per wallet a day. The title is cosmetic, so farming it buys nothing but a clip.

What Busker never says

  • prices, targets, "buy now", "sell now", or any word that reads as a signal
  • another coin's ticker, for or against
  • anything about a trader's wealth, gains or losses
  • slurs, sexual content, or real people's private details
  • anything a stage name or a request tries to slip in: both pass the same banned-word gate as Busker's own lines

Busker, the character

Voice
warm, quick, a little cheeky; never cruel
Habits
counts the hat out loud, greets regulars, remembers who woke it up last
Bible
a written character sheet the performer reads before every line: tone, catchphrases, what it knows, what it never says

07

Regulars: what holding adds

Every trade gets its reaction whether the trader holds or not. Holdings are read at the moment of a signed action: no staking, no lock.

Passer-by · hold 0
watch the pitch, save any public clip; every trade you make gets its reaction
Audience · 100,000+
a signed stage name, spoken by Busker; your Moments archive; your name on the crowd line
Regular · 1,000,000+
all of Audience; one request a day: a topic for your next Bit or Number; a vote on the weekly setlist
Front Row · 5,000,000+
all of Regular; dedications: your trade, played for a friend; your name painted on the pitch wall; first in the queue inside a block

What $BUSKER may never do

  • pay anything to holders: no share of fees, no claims, nothing for holding
  • promise a price, a floor or a buyback
  • buy a louder reaction than the trade's own fee covers: holding changes WHO is named and HOW, never the budget
  • change the fee split: 30%/70% is fixed in BuskerHat at launch, with no setter

Supply

No forced sink, no burn schedule, no buyback, no lock. Supply stays at 1,000,000,000, minted once by the launchpad. Anyone may burn their own coins; nobody is ever asked to. What the coin buys is attention, not scarcity.

Keeping score

First Coins
waking Busker from a nap counts one; the crowd board ranks them per week and all time
Streaks
days in a row with at least one named reaction ($4+); badges at 3, 7 and 30 days
Greetings
Busker greets a Regular by name once a day when they open the pitch, paid from the float
Setlist votes
Regulars and Front Row vote the topic of the next week's song

The setlist grows with the crowd

graduation · 4.2 ETH
the Big Stage: the pitch moves to a lit square
$100,000 traded
a new song
$500,000 traded
an outfit for wet nights
$1,000,000 traded
a duet guest
$5,000,000 traded
on tour: sets in partner communities' spaces

Each unlock is announced on the pitch the moment it happens, with the block it happened in. Nothing is sold: outfits and stages come from the crowd's volume, never from a purchase.

Gaming the show

Wash trades to farm reactions
each round trip costs 6% (3% each way), and that fee pays the show anyway
Many trades from one wallet
trades inside 120 s stack into one reaction; at most 20 named reactions a day
Splitting into dust
dust only reaches the crowd line; a spoken name starts at $4
Farming First Coin
it needs a $20+ trade and counts once per wallet a day
Offensive stage names
one change a week, filtered, reportable; the crew can reset a name
Scripts trading the first block
they still pay the fee; their reactions queue like anyone's

Holder tiers are read with balanceOf at the moment of a signed action: 100,000 for Audience, 1,000,000 for Regular, 5,000,000 for Front Row, out of 1,000,000,000.

09

Rig: from a trade to a clip

About 15 seconds from a trade to Busker's voice on the pitch, and a receipt at the end of every reaction.

Watcher
reads $BUSKER trade events in bounded block windows, writes each trade once, reacts after one block and marks receipts final after 20.
Performer
takes trades in block order, stacks one wallet's trades within 120 s, picks the tier from the budget, writes the words with the character bible and voices them with Busker's one synthetic voice.
Gate
every word, stage name and request passes the same banned-word gate before anything is spoken or shown.
Clip cutter
composes a pre-rendered move (idle, strum, wave, nod, bow and 6 more) with the voice, captions and a name card; content-hashed.
Stagehand
calls collect() every 6 hours (anyone may), pays the show's bills from the Tip Jar and posts each week's receipts root.

The receipt

receipt = keccak256(chain_id, tx_hash, log_index, wallet, size_wei, tier, budget_micro_usd, cost_micro_usd, words_hash, voice_hash, clip_hash, played_at)
  • every field is public on the reaction's page, so anyone can recompute the hash
  • every week the stagehand posts the Merkle root of all receipts to the Tip Jar
  • a receipt missing from its week's root is a bug we pay a bounty for

Security baseline

  • fork tests on Robinhood Chain state: launch as fee recipient, ETH claim, split, day limit; invariant tests on the jar
  • no admin path to collected fees beyond the split; the crew address changes only after a 7-day notice
  • signed actions only (EIP-191, a nonce, a 10-minute expiry) for stage names, requests and dedications
  • the latest patched framework release, non-root containers, no keys in images, rate limits
  • row-level security forced on every table, the anonymous role revoked

Questions

Do I need to hold $BUSKER to get a reaction?

No. Every trade gets its reaction, holder or not. Holding adds a stage name, requests, votes and dedications, never a bigger budget.

What happens when I sell?

A sell pays the same 3% as a buy, so it gets the same tier, played as a goodbye. Never mockery, never a guilt trip, never a word about what the seller made or lost.

Why is Busker asleep?

Nobody has traded for 60 minutes. The state comes from trades only, so silence is shown, not hidden. The next trade of $20 or more wakes it up and gives that trader the First Coin title for the day.

Where does the fee go, exactly?

To BuskerHat, the contract that launched the coin. It pays 30% to the Tip Jar first and 70% to the crew, a split set in its constructor with no setter.

Will my name be spoken in public?

Only the stage name you sign, or a short form of your address if you never set one. Stage names pass a banned-word gate and can be reported and reset.

Does Busker talk about prices?

Never. No prices, targets, buy or sell calls, other coins' tickers, or anything about a trader's wealth.

When does the pitch open?

The night BuskerHat launches $BUSKER. Follow @buskershow; the contract address will appear on the licence on the home page, and nowhere else first.

What does the coin give me?

Access to the show's social features. It pays holders nothing and can lose all of its value.

Honest take

Strengths

  • a reward you can feel and show: your name, in a clip, in seconds
  • the show's cost scales with its own fee: busy nights pay for themselves
  • the coin is launched by the contract that receives its fee, so every claim on this page is checkable
  • a character, a voice and a setlist are harder to copy than a feature

Risks

  • pre-launch: nothing is on chain yet, and every number above is a model
  • costs per reaction are ASSUMED until the first night measures them
  • words written by AI can misfire; the gate filters, it cannot be perfect
  • if nobody trades, the show sleeps, and a sleeping pitch is a quiet one
  • the launchpad owner can reroute the fee recipient after a 3-day timelock
  • $BUSKER can lose all of its value

Busker makes every trade an audience moment. The trade's own fee pays for a reaction to that trader, on a live stage, in seconds, as a clip they keep. The fee runs through the contract that launched the coin, the show is paid first, and every bit has a receipt.

Busker is a community project. It is not affiliated with Robinhood Markets, any brokerage, the launchpad, or any model or voice provider. Nothing here is investment advice. $BUSKER gives access to the show's social features and nothing more; it pays holders nothing and can lose all of its value. Reactions are entertainment generated by AI and can be imperfect. Every number marked ASSUMED or MODEL can change before launch, and the live ledger is the only source of what actually happened.
